Almost 60 local business leaders and stakeholders, attended Tuesday night’s Annual General Meeting and Networking event for Business Victor Harbor at the Victor Harbor Football Club.
The AGM resulted in the re-appointment of Shed Boss Managing Director Michael Schubert as Chairman of the Board of Business Victor Harbor and the appointment of a dynamic and enthusiastic new Board. We welcome the following new members to the Board of Business Victor Harbor:

- Tom Cosentino, Margo Consulting
- Stuart Riddell, McCracken Country Club
- Dawn Peterson, ADRA Australia
- Tim Donlan, Donlan Lawyers
- Mark Richards
They join current Board members Angie Hooper, Kirsten Pitman and Richard Foggo.
We will be sharing more on our new and current Board members, including the experience and expertise they bring to the table in the coming weeks.
Chairman Michael Schubert thanked the City of Victor Harbor, the local business community and outgoing board members Nick Gormley and Mark Thwaites for their ongoing support of the Association and its achievement in his Chairman’s Report.

Guests were also treated to a delicious 2-course meal catered by The Boulevard Cafe and heard presentations from recently appointed BVH Executive Officer Derek McIlroy on the Chamber’s 2020/21 Business Plan and Kirsten Pitman on Tourism and Food Victor Harbor: An industry led approach to the future. BVH APPOINTS NEW EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Welcome Derek McIlroy
Business Victor Harbor welcomes Derek McIlroy to the newly appointed position of Executive Officer.
Derek is charged with helping to drive and deliver a range of projects and outcomes aligned with BVH’s ambitious 2020/21 Business Plan in conjunction with Business Support Executive Renee Ancell and the Board.
Derek McIlroy is currently a Director of D&K McIlroy Nominees, a property investment company and a Management Consultant to Op2ma Pty Ltd, a South Australian based company, specialising in digital solutions, consulting and consumer engagement for various automotive industry clients.
He is an experienced Australian motor industry executive with over two decades of experience and has worked with Mitsubishi Motors Australia, General Motors Holden and as the proprietor and dealer principal of the former McIlroy Auto Group (now known as Northpoint Fleurieu) in Victor Harbor.
He brings a wealth of experience in operations and marketing to the position and is also a qualified Chartered Accountant and has a Graduate Diploma in Management from the University of New South Wales.

Business Victor Harbor was proud to award Mark Richards with life membership at the Annual General Meeting this week.
After joining the association 15 years ago, Mark’s contribution to the Board of Business Victor Harbor and the wider business community is to be commended.
Over the past two and a half years he has thrown himself in to the development and improvement of the Association and spent countless hours researching and writing reports and documents on its behalf. His most recognised and respected work was his paper ‘Re-Imagining Victor Harbor’s Economy’, which included strategic programs and actions that would create a stronger and more robust business community on the South Coast.

Welcome New Members – Salomon Estate
Salomon Estate was established by Bert Salomon in 1995 in Finniss River. From a great Austrian winemaking family, Bert migrated to Australia and has embraced the country with his family who consider themselves Aussie / Austrian.
The 15 hectares of vines in the Finniss River produce wines of exceptional quality from the unique cool climate where river meets the sea. The grapes ripen in this ideal microclimate and the wines mirror the uniqueness of the Finniss River area. Salomon Estate has been rated as a 5 red star winery by James Halliday and the 2016 Finniss River Shiraz just received 96 points in the Wine Companion.
The winemaker is Simon White who’s long term experience managing Coriole and Hardy’s Tintara guarantee exceptional wines. Simon has worked with Bert for two decades and he is longtime friends with the family.
