Federal Member for Mayo

The Federal Member for Mayo, Rebekha Sharkie, is the first non-conservative politician to represent Mayo since it was created in 1984; and the first woman to federally represent her part of regional South Australia since Federation. She is the Centre Alliance spokesperson for Social Services, Ageing, Education, Agriculture & Rural Affairs, Housing, Family & Community Services, Indigenous Affairs, Arts, Sport, Women and Youth. Finniss Electorate Office

David Basham was previously a dairy farmer at Mount Compass, the former president of Australian Dairy Farmers and former president of South Australian Dairy farmers’ Association (SADA).

Representing the Liberal Party, David was elected the Member for Finniss on 17 March 2018.

The electorate of Finniss covers approximately 1000km2.

Following the redistribution of South Australian electoral boundaries in 2016, localities in Finniss include Victor Harbor, Goolwa, Back Valley, Currency Creek, Encounter Bay, Finniss, Hindmarsh Island, Middleton, Port Elliot, Mount Compass, Tooperang and Waitpinga.
