Thursday 22nd September 2022, National Day of Mourning, Queen Elizabeth II – National Bank Holiday (Public Holiday)

The Prime Minister of Australia has declared Thursday 22nd September, 2022 a National Bank Holiday (Public Holiday) in respect of the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Subsequently and under our State’s Trading Hours Act 1977, Premier Peter Malinauskas has ‘Exempted’ all ‘Non-Exempt’ shops within the Greater Area of Adelaide and other Prescribed Shopping Districts to be able to trade on Thursday 22nd September, 2022, from midday to 9.00pm.

As the Victor Harbor and surrounding regions are not within Prescribed Shopping Districts, and are already deregulated with regards to shop trading hours, and therefore trading is permitted.

HOWEVER, the Premier has strongly, encouraged all shops, businesses and traders across the State of South Australia, to open from midday on Thursday 22nd September 2022, as a form of respect and to honour our late Queen Elizabeth II.

Business Victor Harbor, strongly supports that all traders, wishing to trade on Thursday 22nd September, open for trade from midday, in respect and recognition of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
