Business Victor Harbor held it’s Annual General Meeting on Tuesday September 24, 2024 at the beautiful McCracken Resort – during which there were some changes to the Board of Directors.

Secretary Tim Donlan announced his resignation from the Board, but expressed interest in nominating again at a future date. Former Chair of BVH, Michael Schubert, accepted the Secretary role. Current Chair of BVH, Gavin Daniell, Deputy Chair Kirsten Pitman and Treasurer Mark McLaren were all re-nominated and accepted to stay on in their roles on the Board.

With the resignation of Tim Donlan and one vacant position on the twelve-person Board, the two new nominations received for this year’s AGM were unanimously passed – with Steve Chapman of Victor Harbor Motor Co and Michael May of Origin Energy joining the BVH Board for 2024/25.

“While sad to see Tim go, we are excited at the two new additions to our Board,” said BVH Executive Officer, Colin Shearing. “Steve and Michael bring further diversification in backgrounds to the mix – which already has a wide variety of local business owners volunteering their time and expertise to our Members and to the wider Fleurieu business community. We certainly are excited to grow our Chamber with these two new additions!”

With Business Victor Harbor’s recently launched Strategic Plan, and the announcement of three years’ continued funding from the City of Victor Harbor, the future looks bright for the organisation. “It is a very exciting time for us as Victor Harbor & region continues to change and develop,” added Gavin Daniell. “I truly feel we have a strong, close knit Board of Directors who can achieve our plans for the organisation, as outlined in our Strategic Plan 2024/2027. We view Victor Harbor as the heart of the Fleurieu and will continue to push for change that benefits our local businesses and residents.”
