Green Industries SA’s Lead-Educate-Assist-Promote (LEAP) grant will fund Business Victor Harbor to deliver a 12 month partnership providing specialised mentoring and coaching in circular economy business practices for greater economic and environmental sustainability for five Greater Fleurieu based businesses.

Colin Shearing, Executive Officer Business Victor Harbor says “Business Victor Harbor is proud and excited that Rawtec, which is one of Australia’s leading consultancies working in the circular economy, waste and resource management space, will be delivering this collaborative project over the next 12 months”

“In the main our region’s business community is very conscious about waste and recycling, however when it comes to understanding what the Circular Economy or ‘going circular’ is all about, there appears to be a wide a varied local business operator response in regards to production and consumption of materials and products”

“It’s very important that all businesses across all industry sectors engage in good practices which involve sharing, leasing, reusing, repairing, refurbishing and recycling existing materials and products for as long as possible; and to design those practices into business-as-usual operations”

Congratulations to the following five businesses which have been selected from broad cohort of applications:

“The five local businesses will have the opportunity to share results, promote and demonstrate initiatives, plus provide take-aways that can be implemented and/or adapted by the broader Fleurieu regional business community. Results over these first twelve months will inform how the program continues in 2024-25.”

Michael Schubert, Chair Business Victor Harbor says, “A terrific win for local business, and the Greater Fleurieu community. Our region is developing a reputation as the place to pioneer more circular practices for sustainable ways of thinking about our economy and our environment.”
