Business Victor Harbor moves forward

Business Victor Harbor is always moving forward and on Thursday, September 29, members of Business Victor Harbor were invited to a Commercial Leasing Forum for Small Business meeting with Nerissa Kilvert (Small Business Commissioner).

The time was spent sharing common issues many local businesses are experiencing when it comes to negotiating and understanding leasing arrangements. Those who attended left the meeting informed about the various types of support available through the Small Business Commissioner’s office.

Business Victor Harbor as the local Business Chamber, are looking forward to working closely with the Small Business Commissioner’s office, to further support local business, by working collaboratively on ways to provide valuable resources and support to the region. On Friday, September 30, Department for Industry, Innovation and Science held a Small Business Roundtable – Fleurieu Peninsula, Business Breakfast at McCracken with approximately 60 local businesses attending.

The open forum provided businesses to share their pain points when dealing with government departments and how that could be improved. There is a strong desire for collaboration with government departments to get systems and procedure right, with more forums to talk ideas through would enable local businesses to problem solve, improve business efficiencies, and spend more time on their business in a productive manner.
