Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of Business Victor Harbor will be held at 5:00pm to 5:30pm on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, Chiton Beach Cafe – LOT 440 Hindmarsh Esplanade, Hayborough, SA 5211 Australia.


The 2021 AGM, together with the Quarterly Industry Snapshot, will be held together on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Chiton Beach Cafe – LOT 440 Hindmarsh Esplanade, Hayborough, SA 5211 Australia.

Board Nominations


Nominations for BVH Board positions closed on 11th October, 2021.


For 2021, there are a total of 4 vacancies for a board term of 1 year, consisting of:


Deputy Chairperson – 1 year – incumbent Kirsten Pitman standing for re-election, not contested

Treasurer – 1 year – incumbent Tom Cosentino standing for re-election, not contested.

4 x Ordinary Board Positions – 1 year, total of 5 nominations received, which has triggered a secret ballot which will be held at the AGM.

For the 4 x ordinary Board Positions, Business Victor Harbor has received the following nominations:


(Incumbent) Craig Cooper, standing for re-election.


Having lived on the Fleurieu his whole life, Craig has 21 years working in local government and 5 years in running his own business Craig Cooper Living Well – Business Transformation, Leadership and Life Coaching. Craig understands the importance of wellbeing in the community and its direct relationship to effective business practices, facilitating wellness retreats on the South Coast, Men’s Wellbeing, and Leadership Coaching.

As a passionate surfer and member of the Port Elliot Surf Life Saving Club and Life Member of Surf Life Saving SA.

(Incumbent) Dawn Peterson, standing for re-election.


Dawn Peterson has been the Manager of ADRA Op Shop in Victor Harbor for the past three years. Since her appointment, the shop has seen a double in sales. ADRA provide goods for purchase to raise funds to support projects, locally, nationally and internationally for those in need. All goods are donated by the community on the Fleurieu.

Dawn is a passionate advocate for helping the less fortunate in our community. She ran a successful business in Adelaide alongside her husband for 20 years and has strong bookkeeping and administration skills.

(Incumbent) Derek McIlroy, standing for re-election.


Derek McIlroy is currently a Director of D&K McIlroy Nominees, a property investment company and a Management Consultant to Op2ma Pty Ltd, a South Australian based company specializing in digital solutions, consulting and consumer engagement for various automotive industry clients.

He is an experienced Australian motor industry executive of over two decades and has worked with Mitsubishi Motors Australia, General Motors Holden and as the proprietor and dealer principal of the former McIlroy Auto Group (now known as Northpoint Fleurieu) in Victor Harbor, South Australia. He is a leader in operations and marketing and a qualified Chartered Accountant. He also boasts a Graduate Diploma in Management from the University of New South Wales.

Mark McLaren


 Mark is currently Business Manager at Investigator College, a role that he has held since March 2020. (the outbreak of COVID). 

Mark McLaren is no stranger to the Fleurieu Peninsula, having grown up on a dairy farm at Myponga and settling in Mount Compass in 2001.  

Mark has contributed to his local communities as Treasurer and auditor for numerous local organisations, including the Great Southern Netball Association as auditor for 25 years.

Mark has 27 years of accounting and management experience across the areas of state government, energy, education, health, primary production and sports administration. 

Gavin Daniell


Gavin is the licensee of McDonalds Victor Harbor and Aldinga, whilst also holding office as Deputy Chair of the Ronald McDonald House Charities South Australia, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing vital programs for families with seriously ill children.
